Body mass index (BMI) is designed to check if your weight is normal.
If your BMI is higher or lower than the desired amount (18.5-24.9). It does not necessarily mean that you are overweight (25-29.9), obese (30 and over) or underweight (less than 18.5).
There may be a situation where a muscular athlete will be the same weight and height as an obese and unhealthy person, or equally if you are pregnant. Therefore BMI should be taken with a limited guarantee.
The data from this calculator is true for people up to age 65. After this age the calculation changes.
Also, they are not completely accurate with regard to adolescents since the rate of physical maturation of each one is relatively different.
