There are 2 types of tears in the strip.
A partial rupture of the ligament can heal on its own (since there is still some supply of blood) but this process will take time.
A complete rupture cannot heal on its own, and sometimes will require surgery.

- Hemorrhage
- swelling
- sensitivity around the joint
- pain while moving or when pressure is exerted on the spot (weight)
- joint instability
