pain in the hip can have several reasons.
The most common causes of pain in the hip and groin are:
1. Damage to cartilage in the hip joint.
2.Inflammation and/or tears in a muscle group in the thigh and groin area.
3.Hernia (hernia, athlete’s keel)
4. Infection or inflammation in one of the abdominal or genital organs.
5. pressure on different nerves in the area.
Inflammation of the femur occurs mainly among athletes who perform continuous efforts of bringing the hip bone in and out. Symptoms will appear during contraction of the muscle against resistance or during stretching of the leg outwards. The pain is located in the pelvic area and may radiate downward toward the groin. Sometimes the pain disappears with effort, but after the activity, it will worsen.
Footballers, skiers, high jumpers, and horse riders often experience these injuries.
Treatment of inflammation
should be given rest completely as soon as initial pain begins in the area, and treatment with anti-inflammatory drugs should be continued.
After the acute phase, the place should be heated in combination with gentle stretching. You can start doing sports activities without carrying weight on the injured leg, for example cycling or swimming, provided that the activity does not aggravate the pain.
Muscle rupture
Muscle rupture is the result of overexertion or overuse of the muscle, as occurs, for example, in footballers who perform a “lateral kick” on the ball through the inside of the foot or while sprinting quickly out of the place they are in.
Following such an injury any attempt to activate the muscle will cause severe pain in the area. If the athlete is unable to contract the muscle at all, there is a suspicion of a complete muscle rupture. Visible hemorrhage will appear only after a few days from the moment of injury.
Treatment of a rupture
The primary treatment for a rupture is cooling with ice, applying pressure, and lifting the leg.
In the rehabilitation phase, moderate activity can be performed that does not endanger the injured muscle, such as cycling or jogging.
