How to Concentrate

It has often happened to us that we have heard of people who are unable to sit down and do what they need to do. Nowadays, it has become difficult to sit down and concentrate. Especially since we have so many distractions, like news, commercials, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp (and the list goes on). Their whole purpose is to get your attention and make you spend as much time there as possible. They have attention engineers who do everything possible to keep you within the app as long as possible. So you too should have a method that will help you keep your focus in the right place and not lose concentration.

Work in front of a task page

write all your tasks on a page (not on the phone !!!) All the things that are important for you to accomplish today. If you are studying for an exam, write down all the topics you need to go through. each time you complete an assignment – mark that assignment has completed. This way you will have a visual follow-up of yourself and you will also know what awaits you next.

Environment

Before you start, make sure that your work/learning environment is ready and good for you. Note that there are no distractions near you, that it is not too cold and not too hot, and that you have water or snacks.
If you are bothered by noise, you are probably better off studying alone in a room or library, rather than in a coffee shop.
Important note to self – if you think that a messy table does not bother you, you are wrong. The more items on your desktop, the harder it will be for your brain to concentrate on what it needs (the brain picks up a lot of details and simply chooses to ignore them, like your nose for example).

 Exercise your brain to concentrate

how do you do it? Quite similar to working on muscles in our body. For starters, set a timer for 20 minutes. In these 20 minutes, focus solely on your work and do not touch anything else. Without touching the phone without entering any site and without getting up from the table. 

At the end of a 20-minute, take a break for 10 minutes, get up from the table, check your phone, move a little and go to the bathroom if necessary. At the end of the break, turn on the timer again.
Gradually increase the concentration times. You will notice how you manage to concentrate more and more time in a row.

Coffee and snacks

Many studies have shown that coffee helps us reach maximum concentration, and improve performance. Not only in sports but also in the learning and working out our brain. See if it works for you. Also, many claims state that dark chocolate helps us concentrate. We recommend not getting used to eating chocolate while learning, and not getting used to eating while learning at all. You should concentrate on studying separately, and on food separately. Break the chocolate as the last straw for the test. And in general, we are not in favor of supplements that will help you concentrate, try to reach a concentration without caffeine or glucose.

 Nutrition

A healthy and balanced diet is extremely important for the maximum functioning of our brain. Make sure you have full and balanced meals and do not skip them. Also, try to eat healthy foods for your brain especially foods like broccoli, nuts, various products rich in omega 3, and so on. along with all this, it is important to make sure to drink plenty of water.

 Sleep

Not only will adequate sleep be key to the maximum functioning of our brain, but it is also the time when the brain processes all the information it has received during the day and “stores” it properly. So even if you have a test tomorrow morning, staying awake and studying all night is not worth anything. Manage your time wisely, making sure you give your body about 8 hours of sleep a night.

Exercise

Exercise is known to improve learning and concentration abilities. Regular exercise will also allow you to refresh, and your brain to stop and process the information it has received. Physical activity will also help with blood flow to all the parts of the body that need it after a full day of sitting at the table. Exercise is very effective with relieving stress (much more than watching TV).
