Stuck in the mud

This article is especially intended for people who feel they can move faster in life but something is sticking them in place. We were there and we want to help you get out of there.

Do you also feel (or sometimes feel) like you are stuck in one place and unable to move anywhere

We call this situation “being stuck in the mud”. Just like a car that gets stuck in the mud and needs help to get out. We also sometimes need help with certain situations.
Sometimes we do not even know we are stuck in the mud. We hope you find the next section interesting and draw some conclusions out of it.

Part of our adolescence process is forgetting what we learned as children

Unlearn the things that people who have no idea what they are doing have told you. unlearn from people with opinions that are not relevant to today’s world. As children and teenagers, we do not have too much control over the education we receive from our environment. But as adults, it is our full responsibility to discover the areas we are not good at. it is our responsibility to find and to correct the wrong things we have been tought. This can be financial mismanagement, wrong habits, poor nutrition, poor general health, and even laziness. It’s easy to blame our environment, but a big change and a better life are not something easy to achieve. And if somebody is trying to sell you something else, think about the fact that if it was easy, we would be living today in a world full of happiness and success.

The moment I realized that my dad doesn’t have a small insect in his ear that tells him what to do

Is the moment I realized that some of the things I 100% believe in are not true at all. Let me explain when I was a little kid, my dad scratched my ear a lot. I asked him why he was doing that, and he replied that he had a small insect in his ear, which told him what to do. Sometimes he bothers him too much so than Dad scratches his ear. I did not suspect anything. Why should I suspect? Until one day when I was back home for the weekend from the army, I saw him scratching his ear and I wanted to ask him why he was scratching so hard. I immediately remembered that it was his insect, and then suddenly I felt dumb and the token fell.

When I was a kid, I had no reason not to believe it, and I just kept on living my life with that fact. I lived with the belief that my father had an insect telling him what to do, many, many years, until the age of 18.

This story can be funny. But it can also make you think about things you believe in wholeheartedly, that have nothing to do with reality. It doesn’t have to be something absurd like an insect in the ear. It can be something absurd like the “Fact”  that showing empathy for the other is a weakness. And so you must not empathize. Or the “fact” that a man who expresses feelings is weak. And therefore men should not express feelings.

We all sometimes need help with getting out of the mud

The best way is to diagnose ourselves. Check if you’re stuck in. Go deep inside and try to ask yourself. Do you feel a little stuck, or are you happy with how you are progressing?

If you feel stuck, try to understand what is the thing that makes you feel like it. Think of what tools are available for you to get out of the pit mud. Should you look for solutions yourself, or seek help from the other?
