inflammation and tears in the hamstring muscle

inflammation and tears in the hamstring muscle

The hamstring muscles are three muscles that are behind the thigh, and connect the buttocks to the knee.
Inflammation of the hamstring muscle usually develops at the site of the tendon and is the result of “overuse” of the tendon. This phenomenon is especially typical among athletes who engage in activities that require them to use the muscle over and over again, for example, running a marathon.

A rupture in the hamstring muscle, on the other hand, will be accompanied by sudden, sharp, stabbing pain in the area, and an inability to continue the activity. It is usually due to a blow or movement that the muscle had a hard time dealing with.
This injury is typical of athletes who run (with an emphasis on short runs), long jumpers, tennis players, and footballers. An athlete who has suffered this type of injury once may suffer repeated muscle injuries.

Treatment

  • Treatment of inflammation: rest and avoidance of exertion, ointments, and a combination of medication depending on the severity of the condition.
  • Treatment of tears: Laying ice for cooling the place, applying pressure and lifting the leg. The recovery time depends on the damage done to the muscle.

Pain in the Hamstring and discomfort can have reasons that are not written here.

And even if you recognize all the symptoms, it is still not 100% sure you are suffering from this injury! Stay calm, and if you are worried that you have experienced this injury, see a doctor who will examine you!

Beyond the injury in this article, the pain you feel may be inflammation, a tight muscle, or a muscle nut that is squeezing and causing discomfort.

If it is a tight muscle or a muscle nut that presses on the painful area. We recommend a professional massage! If you want to do everything yourself, go to a video we have prepared especially for you on the subject of muscle release.

It is important that you learn about your body, knowing that when tissue is damaged in the body, the immune system responds. In response there are 2 stages:

The inflammatory stage – at this stage the body diverts the tissues destroyed by body cells that are designed to do so. At this stage, the blood flow to that area is increased.

Construction phase – At this stage the body repairs itself, rebuilds itself and repairs the damage caused. This process is injury dependent and can take up to several months.
