Emotions are a central and very big part of our lives. I doubt anyone would think otherwise.
We are built to meet all our needs here and now. After a certain practice and especially education, we learn to postpone our satisfactions a little, and give respect to another, but when should we stop giving respect to another? When should we run over everyone on the way for our purposes? when do we need to let the sense of jealousy to motivate us?
The answer to that is: “almost never”, if not “never”.
Some of us are born very competitive, and when we see that another person is more successful than us, we immediately feel this need to be better than him and there will be what, a little sense of jealousy, and maybe even an urge to try to sabotage his success. This form of thinking comes from the wrong place, and this thought comes from the more surviving mind. It’s a form of thinking whereby life is a sprint, where everything happens fast, and if you have not succeeded now, then it’s over for you. In practice, you may be surprised to hear, life is very long.
The sprint is usually 100 meters, the marathon is 42.2 kilometers. That is 4220 times longer than the sprint.
A feeling of jealousy can last up to a week. The average life expectancy as of right now is 80 years, 4171 times longer than a single week. Thanks to the following trick, you may also shorten this week of jealousy for yourself.
If 2 marathon runners start running, and in the middle of the road one overtook the other by a hundred meters, do you think the second runner stops the race, or maybe, on the other hand, burns all his energy to overtake the first runner? So the answer is neither this nor that are the answers. For the simple reason that he knows there is another long track ahead of him and he will have plenty of opportunities to overtake the first runner. The same is true of our lives. If someone has achieved great things in life, instead of being jealous, we have to praise him! He achieved a goal he probably dreamed of, and worked hard for it! You probably should know how hard it takes to get things done. congratulate! But, congratulate and know that you will overtake him!
There are 2 ways to build the tallest tower in the city. One is to build the tallest tower in the city. The other is to build an average building and demolish all the buildings that are taller than it. Do yourself a favor and choose the first way.
Beyond the fact that congratulating others will save you the feeling of jealousy and low self-esteem, and may even help you make new friends. The time you will gain from stopping engaging in the work of others, you will invest in your hard work. If you are afraid you will not succeed in life, check this article out.
